Cold rolled steel sheets are manufactured through a metalworking process where hot rolled steel, after cooling to room temperature, is further processed using rollers to achieve tighter dimensional tolerances and a superior surface finish. Unlike hot rolling, which occurs above the steel's recrystallization temperature, the cold process happens at or near ambient temperatures, which physically deforms the grains and increases the material's strength and hardness through strain hardening.
